Borgata Spring Poker Open Weekend

What a start to the Borgata Spring Poker Open this week as 1,041 players (and re-buys) turned out for the $560 No Limit opener Wednesday.

First tournament out of the shoot and we already have a hundred thousand-aire in Brian Lemke (pictured left) of Norristown Pa. who wins $111,076 by taking the opening tournament.

Lemke, of course, is a pretty seasoned pro with more than $1 Million (Ok, so he's a millionaire) in tournament winnings and better than $400,000 online. He’s been seen at more than a few Borgata events, but this is his first Borgata win.

Thursday’s event – a $300 + $50 + $100 No Limit Bounty tournament – brought out 359 players and today’s event had 26 tables up and running (no official count yet), so expect a busy Borgata holiday weekend in the Poker and Signature rooms.

Here’s the weekend’s main events:

Event 5 - No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry) $700 + $70

Day 1 Sat, 4/7 11am
Day 2 Sun, 4/8 Noon

Event 6 - Omaha H/L 8B $350 + $50

Day 1 Sat, 4/7 3pm
Day 2 Sun, 4/8 Noon

Event 7 - Deep Stack Semi-Turbo No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry) $20 + $40

Sun, 4/8, 11am

Meanwhile, back at the cash games, the Borgata Bad Beat Jackpot has climbed to $394,000 going into today, continuing a lucky new tradition of big bad beats during major Borgata opens.

During the Winter Open in January, for example, the Borgata Bad Beat Jackpot was building its way to a Borgata record $636,000 (which hit in February). It’s a tradition we like.

And don’t forget that this month
Borgata Poker is offering April Bonus Comp Dollars for rated play.
